At Nothing Naughty, community has always been at the heart of what we do. Over the past few months, we’ve had the privilege of supporting several incredible breast cancer fundraising initiatives across Aotearoa - causes that mean a great deal to many of us personally and professionally.
Breast cancer affects 1 in 10 Kiwi women during their lifetime, and chances are all of us know someone whose life has been touched by it. Whether through research, education, early detection or support services, the work being done by breast cancer charities throughout New Zealand is truly life-changing.
We wanted to share a few of the ways we’ve recently been able to contribute.
This May, we proudly donated more than $3,000 worth of Nothing Naughty product to support Pink Ribbon Breakfast fundraising events around the country.
The Pink Ribbon Breakfast is the official annual fundraising campaign by Breast Cancer Foundation NZ, helping fund vital breast cancer research, education and patient care. Every year, thousands of New Zealanders gather with friends, whānau, colleagues and communities to host breakfasts, morning teas and fundraising events in support of the cause.
It’s a campaign we’re proud to stand behind, and we loved seeing our products become part of so many meaningful community gatherings.
If you’d like to get involved, there are plenty of ways to support the campaign:
Host your own breakfast, morning tea or workplace event
Attend a local Pink Ribbon event in your area
Donate directly to an existing fundraiser or the Breast Cancer Foundation NZ
Every contribution helps support the incredible work being done for Kiwi women and their families.
This year, we also chose to donate a portion of every sale from our Mother’s Day Gift Bundle to the Breast Cancer Foundation NZ too.
What made this initiative especially meaningful was the beautiful mini print artwork which was included in the bundle. It was created by our talented team member and artist Julie Saunders - Blackbird & Fern.
Julie is not only an amazing creative talent, she is also someone who has personally battled and recovered from breast cancer. Being able to work alongside Julie on this project made it deeply personal for our team, and we feel incredibly grateful she shared her creativity and story with us in such a special way.
It was a reminder that behind every statistic is a real person, a family, and a journey of resilience.
We were also honoured to be a product sponsor for Breast Cancer Cure’s Hike for a Cure event in Wānaka.
Set amongst the breathtaking high-country terrain of Lake Hāwea Station, the event brought people together to challenge themselves physically while raising funds for life-saving breast cancer research in Aotearoa.
Participants chose from several hiking options ranging from relaxed scenic walks through to the ultimate endurance challenge across the iconic Breast Peak and Breast Hill ridgelines.
More than just a hike, the event is about connection, purpose and community and all while supporting research that helps move us closer to earlier detection, better treatment options and, ultimately, prevention.
The next Hike for a Cure will take place on Saturday, 20 March 2027, and it promises to be another unforgettable event in one of New Zealand’s most spectacular landscapes.
To everyone who hosted, donated, hiked, purchased a bundle, or contributed in any way - thank you.
We know these causes are deeply personal for many people, including members of our own team and wider Nothing Naughty community. We’re grateful to be able to play even a small part in supporting the incredible organisations and individuals working to make a difference.
Together, we can help continue the important work of research, education, support and awareness for future generations.
